Welcome to our studio in a behind the scenes preview of the creative process in action.

THE CHASE: Tarpon Distressed Table

A large scale (no pun intended) painting by Kathleen on a distressed table top captures a tarpon in pre-gulp action. The rustic wood boards provide a great painting surface with lots of metallic paints slathered on a crusty texture. The final painting is sealed in a thick acrylic overlay giving the art a look of deep water.

Table measures 40" x 16" x 32" tall with 2 hand carved drawers.

ME AND MY BIG MOUTH SIGN

We have been creating a long running series of hand made humorous signs that also function as towel or clothing hooks. Each one is a labor of love using mixed media such as clay, painting, scraps of wood and any other stuff that's hanging around that we need to get rid of!

Having fished all my life, subject matter tends to wander into aquatic themes. Big Mouth measures 24 x 10 inches with 3 sturdy hooks.

MANATEES & TURTLE CLOCK

Kathleen has been working on a few clocks over the summer. Her latest features a highly detailed manatee family with a sea turtle. The painting is done mostly with airbrushed acrylic with some metallic paints to add a glistening watery effect.

Detail work, as shown at left, is added with small brushes and colored pencils. The final image is housed in a distressed 24" diameter metal frame with glass. The clock is powered by one AA battery.
