GLASS BY SCOTT BISSON
Bisson is unique among glass blowers in that he produces two types of glass, both of which take very different skills. One type is called flame working and it is with this skill that Scott is able to produce the intricate pieces that come alive with action. Examples of this would be his frogs, geckos and fish. The glass used for this process is a borosilicate product more widely known as Pyrex. It must be worked at higher temperatures and is more durable when finished.

The other type of glass Scott works is known as soft glass and is produced on the end of a blowpipe. This is a beautiful process to watch as timing, knowledge and skill come together to produce colorful, larger pieces of glass. Examples would be paperweights, bowls, pitchers or any larger item which the imagination can conceive.
